Robbie Keane hits form with 1st half hat-trick

The skipper also claimed an assist in LA Galaxy’s 4-0 win over Seattle last night.

ROBBIE KEANE GOT in the mood for Wembley last night with no less than three goals and an assist as LA Galaxy breezed past the Seattle Sounders.

The Ireland captain set up Sean Franklin’s 12th minute goal before getting on the score-sheet himself in the 24th, 34th and 44th minute.

Not enough fours for you? The  game ended 4-0, the points safely secured before Keane replaced after 73 minutes.

Keane’s second came from the penalty spot, but he needed two bites at the cherry. After the foul was (harshly) given against Djimi Traore Michael Gspurning saved Keane’s weak first effort. He moved too far off his line, however, and Keane slotted the re-take to the other side.

The game also witnessed the return to competition of Robbie Rogers for the first time since announcing he was gay early this year.

Here’s all the action.

Rather than shafting the player that done so much for Irish football maybe give the lad a bit of support. A 20 minute hat-trick will do allot for his confidence, well done him! He cant be doing that bad when hes earning more than most of us put together!

Regardless of his performances lately for Ireland he is still an Irish footballing hero. Nobody else vividly remember the 91st minute against Germany?

Well done Robbie keep those performances up!

Vividly remember doing my English exam in my Leaving, how anyone is expected to concentrate on an exam while Ireland play in the World Cup in beyond me

Things where so bad in our school, that the principal had to start coming into the exams and give give score updates so the lads would stop leaving after the minimum time.

I think allot of schools done that, my sisters had their exams at the same time and they said the same!

As much as it sounds comical to delay state exams over football games, it really should have been done. Fairly sure there was plenty of points lost through rushed questions that year! Would love to see the average grades from the English paper during that match compared to other years!

Don’t fancy that penalty technique, but good stuff all the same. His passing is superb.
