Uncapped Hull City midfielder Stephen Quinn has replaced Paul Green for the upcoming batch of games.

Irish manager Giovanni Trapattoni then tempered expectations of a miraculous comeback for Dunne, who was released by his club side, Aston Villa, last week.

The Italian declared that the central defender would not start against England at Wembley unless he was 100% fit. That did not stop Trap from wishing for the best:

One player who will not feature in the end of season trio of international fixtures is Paul Green. The midfielder’s place in the squad has been taken by uncapped Hull City player Stephen Quinn.

England coach Roy Hodgson must plan for the match without Manchester United midfielder Tom Cleverley after he was ruled out with a calf injury.

Trapattoni also revealed that the Stoke duo of Glenn Whelan and Marc Wilson were suffering from tight calf muscles but should be fit for the England match on 29 May at Wembley.
