Carlos Tevez suspended by City chiefs

Argentine striker is disciplined after his apparent refusal to play against Bayern Munich last night.

MANCHESTER CITY STRIKER Carlos Tevez has been suspended for two weeks by Eastlands chiefs.

The club confirmed the move this evening following a telephone conference involving senior staff, including chairman Khaldoon al-Mubarak.

The decision comes in the wake of Tevez’s refusal to play against Bayern Munich last night with his time at the club now likely to over.

“Manchester City can confirm that striker Carlos Tevez has been suspended until further notice for a maximum period of two weeks,” said a short statement released by City this evening.

“The player’s suspension is pending a full review into his alleged conduct during Tuesday evening’s 2-0 defeat to Bayern Munich. The player will not be considered for selection or take part in training whilst the review is under way.”

Tevez released a statement on this morning, saying: “This is not the right time to get into specific details as to why this did not happen. But I wish to state that I never refused to play.

“Going forward I am ready to play when required and to fulfil my obligations.”

Good, I hope they do not release him from his contract. Make him see out the rest of his contract in the reserves. At last I think we see owners of football clubs standing up to these pre madonas

But then they’ll still have to pay him. Would this not be seen as a breach of contract. Could city sue him.

They’d still have to pay him tho. Sack him then sue him for breach of contract.

Well what ever happens after this suspension either sacking or reserves he should be made an example off. I think this whole saga has made Ferguson out to be a true genius of the game, he obviously knew there was something doggy about this guy otherwise he would of putting a serious bid in to try and keep him back in 2009

Carlos Tevez was asked to put his neck on the line for Man City last night, & remained on the bench due to not actually having one.

Apparently he stayed on the bench as it was closer to his family in Argentina!

What was the name of the Dutch dude a few years back? Chelsea paid big bucks for him and he was naff, he openly admitted to seeing out a 4/5 year deal training with the youths. Footballers have no shame and it’s a lot to do with corrupt agents, who fill their heads with bullshit and inflate egos in order to force through big money moves of which, of course, they get a hefty slice! It’s not a sport any more, it’s borderline prostitution!!

So typical of what the game has become!!! All money and big egos.how dare he insult his manager, team and the millions of young lads around the world who would love to be in his position.Used to enjoy football when players played for the love of the game and were honoured to play for their respective clubs. So,so long ago !!!!
