I’m no Liverpool fan, but that’s patently nonsense. The guy scored 163 Premier League goals. Only Henry, Cole and Shearer scored more.
Of the still active players, Rooney and Lampard will probaby catch him, but he was in no way a mediocre player.

Keep in mind I wrote that he was mediocre at the end of his career. I agree that he was a great player initially.

Knight’s a bit of an eejit, Remeber when he was at Chelsea, Highly rated, but never reached his potential. So many spats with employers, Rushden, Coleraine, etc etc. Apparently he was living in London and Coleraine were paying for his travel expense’s to games, Ony Messi deserves that kind of treatment, maybe Ronaldo. But not a Irish premierleage player.
