WATCH: Is this why Bayern Munich didn’t win the Champions League?

There was something fortuitous about Chelsea’s Champions League victory other than their penalty kick success.

APPARENTLY, THERE’S A widely held suspicion that touching the Champions League trophy prior to kick off brings bad luck.

Or so a contingent of Bayern Munich supporters, still reeling from their dramatic loss to Chelsea, would have you believe.

However, Bayern midfielder Anatoliy Tymoschuk, presumably unaware of this apparent curse, casually touched the trophy as the teams walked out before the game began.

Thus, Bayern were apparently doomed before the match had even started, and some fans in the club’s forums are consequently calling for Tymoschuk’s head.

Football, eh?
