19-year-old Gambian upstages goal-scoring Robbie Keane as Galaxy struggles continue

Kekuta Manneh last home a late equaliser for the Vancouver Whitecaps at BC Place.

ROBBIE KEANE SCORED his fourth goal in five league games but it was not enough for the struggling LA Galaxy as they drew 2-2 away to Vancouver Whitecaps.

Keane, who was welcomed to Canada by a clattering Andy Oโ€™Brien tackle after just five minutes, thought he had snatched three points for his side with a 77th minute goal. The Irishman lingered on the front post and lashed home from five yards out after a nod down from teammate Kevin Friend.

Galaxy, who won two and lost two of their opening four MLS games, could not hold on for the victory. 19-year-old Gambian forward Kekuta Manneh was given too much space on the edge of the Galaxy box and made the visitors pay with a powerfully struck equaliser.

Speaking post-match, Keane commented, โ€œItโ€™s disappointing. You canโ€™t go up twice away from home and concede goals like that. The first goal was very, very sloppy. We had the momentum for most of the game; we kept the ball and kept it moving. We did well with both of our goals, but it feels like we have to score way more goals than everyone else, but that shouldnโ€™t be the case. We should be able to see games out.โ€

LA lie in sixth place in the Western Conference and face a three-game road trip before returning home to play Philadelphia Union on 25 May.

I saw the game. He certainly was not upstaged by Manneh. Why go out of your way to knock Keane. He played really well, AGAIN.

Plus Manneh only came on just after half time and did sod all otherwise. It was a nice goal to be fair.
