Liverpool 3-0 Everton
19.50 – Welcome to our liveblog of this evening’s game.
Can David Moyes celebrate ten years in charge of Everton with a victory tonight?
20.06 – Tim Howard has started nervously, giving it straight to Henderson from his throw out.
20.10 – Liverpool really look up for this game. Their intense pressing has forced Everton to concede possession on a number of occasions already.
And as I type that, Howard has got down well to stop a side-footed shot from Gerrard, which was heading for the corner of the net.
20.19 – It’s currently 3-0 to Liverpool as far as shots on target are concerned, but Everton (and in particular Steven Pienaar) are also looking threatening on the counter attack.

20.29 – Everton are beginning to come into the game a bit more now, after Liverpool’s dominant start to the game.
20.44 – Distin does well to outpace Suarez and put in a last-ditch tackle, after the Uruguayan was played through on goal.
Everton are seriously under the cosh at the moment. Liverpool, meanwhile, are playing as well as they ever have this season.
20.48 – Everton are seemingly lacking width in attack at the moment. Even Seamus Coleman seems to be playing very far infield.
20.56 – An intriguing first half of football then. Liverpool probably deserve their lead. They have pressed their opponents into submission Jack Charlton-style, and lead courtesy of a beautiful Steven Gerrard finish.
Everton, on the other hand, while occasionally looking dangerous on the counter attack, will now probably need to adopt a more ambitious approach to this game.
21.29 – Carroll plays Suarez through, and the Uruguayan shoots wide from a difficult angle.
The two strikers have linked up well tonight.
21.35 – Liverpool are coasting at the moment, with Everton seldom threatening, despite the attack-minded changes they’ve made.
21.44 – Liverpool are still looking the far more threatening of the two teams, despite the fact that they seem to have this game wrapped up.
21.48 – Given that this game seems to be all over, here’s a quick poll:
Do you think Liverpool still have a chance of qualifying for the Champions League?
Poll Results:
22.11 – “This is not like playing for Newcastle or Sunderland, this is a special club,” says Sky’s Graeme Souness about the likes of Jordan Henderson, adding that “we’ll know in a year’s time” if they’re good enough to play for Liverpool.
