Poll: who do you think will be crowned All-Ireland football champions?

We’re down to the final five in the race for September glory. Who do you fancy to take Sam?

AFTER AN ENTHRALLING weekend of football action at Croke Park, the field has narrowed yet further in the race for All-Ireland gold.

Limerick, Roscommon, Kildare and champions Cork were dispatched over two days of incident-packed action.

Next weekend Dublin face Tyrone in the last quarter-final before the winner plays Donegal. Mayo and Kerry will face off in the other semi-final at HQ.

So who do you expect to take the Sam Maguire next month?

Poll Results:

Kerry (564)
Dublin (289)
Mayo (227)
Donegal (215)
Tyrone (151)

It would be great to see Mayo or Donegal win it this year, but realistically it will probably be Kerry or Tyrone.

Strange that a county which has won 1 all Ireland in the last 27 yrs (Dublin) ranks 2nd in the poll – while a county that has won 3 all Irelands in the last 8 yrs (Tyrone), ranks 5th. Doesn’t make sense to me !

What has the number of all Irelands a team has won in the past got to do with a poll that is based on this years All Ireland not last years or the previous years but just this years. The reason Tyrone are 5th in the poll is based on their current form, granted they are only getting going now but in the ulster championship they were very very poor.

Oh right and Dublin were in spectacular form in Leinster – a dubious last minute free to beat Kildare and an own goal required to beat Wexford ! Anyways, the truth will out over the next few wks.

Kerry will beat Mayo. If Tyrone beat Dublin they’ll also account for Donegal. If Dublin win I think Donegal can take them. I see a Kerry v Tyrone final with Kerry finally breaking the hoodoo…

I agree – Kerry – with Darren O’Sullivan winning goal of the year and an all-Star award too for his brilliant play?

Sam and Liam for Dublin. And the minor titles as well. I’m not sure how the women footballers are doing, but I hope they win too. A GAA bluewash is called for.
