McGeady facing police questioning after his ‘disgraceful hooliganism’

The Ireland winger allegedly smashed up the dressing room after being sent off for Spartak Moscow over the weekend.

IRELAND INTERNATIONAL AIDEN McGeady will reportedly be questioned by Russian police after an incident which occurred over the weekend.

The Spartak Moscow player opened the scoring for his side against Mordovia Saransk in the 2-1 defeat on Friday before receiving a straight red card in the 29th minute for a late challenge on on Vladimir Bozovic.

According to Oleg Sagaidak, the deputy director of Saransk Stadium, the Scottish-born winger completely lost it and caused major damage to the dressing room after being given his marching orders.

“McGeady literally crushed everything in his path,” The Scotsman quote Sagaidak as saying.

After he was sent off, he kicked in a pitch microphone, argued with the fans, then booted the door to the dressing room.

“It’s disgraceful hooliganism. The man has spat on our hospitality.”

McGeady, who has been in Russia for four years but looks increasing likely to return to British football in the summer, was also asked to apologise by manager Valery Karpin.
