YouTube Top 10: because footballers can be trolls too

Featuring a man dressed as a horse, the brutal side of lacrosse and one the most unsportsmanlike pieces of behaviour you’ll ever see.

10. Generally, in sport, ball boys (and girls) are expected to retrieve the ball as quickly as possible when it goes out of play. However, something tells me Vasco da Gama and their fans won’t be impressed by the swift reaction of the young lady in the clip below, given that she could claim a genuine assist in their opponents’ goal.

9. One of the unwritten laws of football is that when a footballer goes down injured, the team in possession must kick the ball out of play to allow the footballer in question to receive medical attention. The other team is consequently obliged to return the ball to their opponents once normal order resumes. However, one player, presumably spending time off from trolling the internet, decided not to abide by this gesture of fair play. And quite rightly, the team who benefited from this unsporting behaviour (Sepahan) decided to purposefully miss the resulting penalty.

8. Some people believe that lacrosse is essentially a less violent alternative to American Football. The clip below should dispel that myth.

7. Have you ever been tempted to attend a sporting event dressed as horse? Me neither. But this guy has, apparently.

6. There’s always one…

5. We’re not sure what exactly is going on here. But it’s undoubtedly more amusing than most occasions when a sporting event is interrupted by a rain delay.

4. Continuing this week’s theme of fans doing things they really shouldn’t, here’s a video of someone invading the pitch before being tackled by an umpire with (presumably) quite painful consequences.

3. Remember Ronnie Rosenthal’s famous miss back in the early days of the Premier League? The ‘effort’ below is even worse:

2. This guy may not look anything like the managers he’s impersonating, but his impressions of them aren’t half bad.

1. The likes of Jonny Sexton and Ronan O’Gara may be fairly decent at taking penalties, but have they ever managed anything quite like the effort below?
