BEFORE THE INVASION of Gdansk begins properly ahead of Thursday night’s crucial Group C clash against Spain, the Irish fans are enjoying the down time.

Today, Cillian Quinn took part in a beach volleyball game organised by the City of Torun between Irish fans and locals in the town. With commitment etched across the faces of the Galway man and his team-mate, they look like they could do a job in midfield against Xavi and Iniesta.

They won the volleyball game too, we’re reliably informed.
