REAL MADRID ATTACKER Cristiano Ronaldo has refused to rule out the possibility of a return to Manchester United in the future.
The Portugal international broke the world record transfer fee in 2009, when he joined Madrid from Manchester United in a €94 million deal after helping Alex Ferguson’s men win three Premier League titles and one Champions League crown, among other trophies.
Spanish TV show Punto Pelota found a video made by former team-mate Rio Ferdinand, who had a short conversation with the 27-year-old after Madrid’s 4-0 victory against Racing Santander on Saturday.
Questioned by Ferdinand on a return to Old Trafford, Ronaldo said: “You never know, my friend.”
The former Sporting Lisbon talent also stated that he is determined to break the record for the most La Liga goals in a single season, which he holds after netting 40 times in the competition in 2010-11.
“Will I break my record? Of course, man,” he said.
That would be great! The PL has become quite dull lately. It needs a true superstar/villain to get things interesting again.
Most over rated, hyped up superstonker in history of world football. New game, let’s call it,’Wheres Ronaldo’, when it comes to the important matches from now on!!! IMO he doesn’t perform at all v barcelona nor does he play well when it’s expected off of him in big big games.
@ Sean – Most overused, uneducated comment ever used about Ronaldo. Watch La Liga. No-one can touch Ronaldo or Messi – absolutely ridiculous scoring threats. Whatever you think about him (and from your comment I don’t think you watch enough of La Liga to judge him) the manager of the team that you support would give their left testicle to have him in their team – guaranteed goal threat. As a person and an ego he’s a complete dick, but as they say ‘goals win games’ and he consistently provides or scores them. Any and every manager would have him, therefore not overrated.
@James Corr
Thanks James. I agree with you up to the ‘uneducated’ part. Sincere thanks for your powers of deduction. I have seen enough of Ronaldo to ‘judge’ him IMO. I agree that he and Messi are stand out performers in La Liga, a league second only to italian tripe or just ahead of Scottish premiership class!!. The manager of the team I support sold him for a world record fee, poor Real Madrid, great business!!! I agree totally, he scores goals, creates goals. But show me stats of big games where he performs. Messi does it where it counts. He doesn’t have Ronaldo’s pace, if he did he would be best player ever of all time of which he is Already on the path thereto, take away Ronaldo pace, he pure ordinary, one trick pony, Messi is worlds best for next 10 years. We are in the presence of utter legend. He gets kicked off the park and gets on with it, ms Ronaldo gets his hair out of place and he wins a free kick!!!!
