He’s no Glenn Whelan but what a terrific effort Xavi has made in attempting to emulate him…….

How old is Xavi now? If he struggles to get into Barcelona team he would still be a very good investment for a couple of seasons in Prem League with one of the big clubs. After all, Man City have just signed 36 year old Frank Lambard on loan this coming season and both Giggs & Scholes won Prem League title medals season before last while in their late 30s. Class is permanent. Age is just a number.

Surprised Carragher didn’t say second only to Gerrard, I mean he’s really the best isn’t he? Sure Zidane said so like????

They’re both 34. Their careers have overlapped perfectly. Xavi, rightly in my opinion, is now receiving plenty of praise and recognition for his outstanding career as a central midfield player in some if the best club and country teams for decades yet according to Zidane for a 2-3 year period he wasn’t up to Gerrard’s standards?
My point is this. There is an unprecedented level of totally unchallenged bul#*hit in the media today. It’s worth pointing out.

Lads I think Michael was being sarcastic, are we all American and sarcastically challenged or wot? I can’t figure out what Jack is saying though – sounds like he had to actually consider that statement as if it could be open to question!
