THE MISUNDERSTOOD GENIUS of Mario Balotelli looks to have landed him in hot water once again.
Manchester City’s loveable rogue could face a fine of up to £150,000 after he broke a club curfew less than 48 hours before City’s clash against Chelsea in Stamford Bridge tonight.
Balotelli, girlfriend Raffaella Fico and friends were spotted dining in a popular Manchester curry house where they stayed until the early hours of Sunday morning, the Daily Star reports.
And although the striker was not thought to be drinking any alcohol, he still managed to draw attention to himself by staging a mock sword fight in the middle of the restaurant — using a rolling pin as his weapon of choice.
ESPN report that City have opened an internal investigation into the incident, the latest in a long line of misdemeanours since Balotelli joined the club from Inter Milan last summer.
The Italian travelled to London with the rest of his team-mates yesterday but a disappointed Roberto Mancini, who has made a conscious effort to accommodate Balotelli’s quirks in the past, may leave the star out tonight’s starting XI for his continued refusal to play by City’s rules.
Excellent, Balotelli is exactly what I want in a celebrity sports star, I wish he did drink as well as I think we would get some truly epic shenanigans coming out.
Livin the dream. I heard after the 6-1 drubbing of Utd, he drove around Manchester high-fiving City fans?
