THE IRELAND CAPTAIN appeared alongside Fenners and Paul Merson on Sky Sports’ The Football Fantasy Club last night and was asked to name a team of the best XI he’s played with over his 15-year professional career.
Unsurprisingly, Keane, who has had spells with Wolves, Coventry, Inter Milan, Leeds, Spurs, Liverpool, Celtic, West Ham, LA Galaxy and Aston Villa, chose four Irish team-mates with Shay Given, Richard Dunne, Damien Duff and Roy Keane all making the cut.
Gareth Bale was picked ahead of Denis Irwin and Steve Staunton, however, while Robbie opted for former Spurs strike partner Dimitar Berbatov and left out two-time Ballon D’or and World Cup-winner Ronaldo. The team, in a 4-3-3 formation, is as follows:

Pretty solid team
think he only played with the inter lads in training.
What happened to Kevin kilbane
He got distracted by Kev’s rapping skills?
When did robbie keane play along side Ronaldo ?
Inter
Internazionale
Disregard that question .
Big Ronnie at inter …. Forgot about him
No Ian Harte either. Travesty.
Not a great team IMO
Dunne, duff, berbatov? good but hardly world class, and keane should leave himself on bench! ;-)
Maybe, but a midfield on Keane, Gerrard and Seedorf would guarantee you some amount of the ball, which is never a bad platform
Leaving out Denis Irwin was disgusting. Garry Bale? A total joke, may as well picked Berbatov at centre half.
Really? He came into the side with an ageing Irwin and when he played with Bale at Spurs he was a left back!! Faux outrage at another mans preferences about people he knew/knows and you don’t is really sad.
You mean the Garry Bale who went 30 games in the premier league without winning one while he was playing as a left back?
I don’t know of a Gary Bale but the Gareth Bale that did that would be the same one. At the time he was a teenager and what he wasn’t quite able to produce on the pitch he was probably showing on the training pitch. What he has become makes him one of the two non-United players in the league, along with Wilshire, that I’d want at United.
Wjy no Steve Staunton!!!!
Glad to see he included Seedorf in that team. The Dutch man was a serious baller in his day.
He has never played alongside Ronaldo as he has never played for Man Utd, Real Madrid or Sporting Lisbon.
Just realised you meant fat Ronaldo, not Cristiano.
