'What are they smoking at Arsenal?' - Liverpool owner on fresh Suarez bid

John W Henry has tweeted his reaction to the Gunners’ reported £40m (plus £1) offer for the Uruguayan striker.

ARSENAL HAVE REPORTEDLY had a bid of £40,000,001 for Liverpool’s Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez rejected – with Reds own John Henry hitting back via Twitter this morning.

Suarez, who is in Australia with Liverpool ahead of their friendly with Melbourne Victory on Wednesday, signed a new four-year contract with the Anfield club last year.

The deal is believed to contain a clause that states Suarez must be informed of any bid made for his services over £40 million.

The £40,000,001 bid is thought to be the second Liverpool have rejected from the north-London club.

In the past hour, Liverpool owner John W Henry has dismissed the offer, tweeting:
