HENRY SHEFFLIN ADMITTED after his leg of todayโs Olympic Torch relay at Croke Park, that the honour was up there with his eight All-Ireland medals.
The Kilkenny forward took the flame around GAA HQ this morning on the new Skyline walk on the roof of the stadium.
โI get to keep the torch so Iโll have to find somewhere to put it at home, somewhere safe. Itโs a great memento I suppose in years to come,โ he said afterwards.
โWeโll have the pictures, a couple of my kids were here today for the first time in Croke Park. It will be something weโll always, always remember. [The torch] is going to take up a bit of space. But weโll definitely find room for it Iโd say,โ the Ballyhale man told RTร.
After an historic morning on Jonesโ Rd however, itโll back to Nolan Park tonight to be put through his paces by Cats chief Brian Cody.
โHopefully weโll be back here in June,โ he said. โItโs down to brass tacks now. Weโre back in training tonight, back with the lads. Itโs a brilliant feeling I suppose, Iโve got this because of hurling. People say to me about injuries and why do you do it but Iโm lucky enough to get the occasions like this. Iโm delighted to represent the GAA today.โ

memento?
memento, souvenir(noun)
a reminder of past events
em, yes, Iโm aware of that. I was suggesting memento as the correct spelling; momento was in the title.
Thanks for your trouble though.
