'We'll have to find somewhere for it' -- Henry Shefflin brings new memento home from Croker

The Kilkenny talisman represented the GAA at HQ earlier.

HENRY SHEFFLIN ADMITTED after his leg of todayโ€™s Olympic Torch relay at Croke Park, that the honour was up there with his eight All-Ireland medals.

The Kilkenny forward took the flame around GAA HQ this morning on the new Skyline walk on the roof of the stadium.

โ€œI get to keep the torch so Iโ€™ll have to find somewhere to put it at home, somewhere safe. Itโ€™s a great memento I suppose in years to come,โ€ he said afterwards.

โ€œWeโ€™ll have the pictures, a couple of my kids were here today for the first time in Croke Park. It will  be something weโ€™ll always, always remember.  [The torch] is going to take up a bit of space. But weโ€™ll definitely find room for it Iโ€™d say,โ€ the Ballyhale man told RTร‰.

After an historic morning on Jonesโ€™ Rd however, itโ€™ll back to Nolan Park tonight to be put through his paces by Cats chief Brian Cody.

โ€œHopefully weโ€™ll be back here in June,โ€ he said. โ€œItโ€™s down to brass tacks now. Weโ€™re back in training tonight, back with the lads. Itโ€™s a brilliant feeling I suppose, Iโ€™ve got this because of hurling. People say to me about injuries and why do you do it but Iโ€™m lucky enough to get the occasions like this. Iโ€™m delighted to represent the GAA today.โ€

em, yes, Iโ€™m aware of that. I was suggesting memento as the correct spelling; momento was in the title.

    Thanks for your trouble though.
