Waterford make one change for Munster minor final against Limerick

The sides clash in the Gaelic Grounds on Sunday at 1.45pm.

WATERFORD HAVE MADE one change for Sunday’s Munster minor hurling final against Limerick from the team that defeated Cork at the semi-final stage.

DJ Foran comes into the team at left half-forward with the Portlaw youngster replacing Cormac Curran in attack.

Foran was introduced during the victory over Cork and grabbed a goal during the Deise side’s exciting win in Páirc Uí Rinn by 3-19 to 1-20 after extra-time.

Four members of the Waterford starting fifteen claimed All-Ireland colleges hurling medals earlier this year.

Full-back Kevin Daly, wing-back Tom Devine, midfielder Michéal Harney and corner-forward Patrick Curran, who shot 0-12 for Waterford against Cork last time out, were all on the Dungarvan Colleges side that lifted the Croke Cup in April.

Harney and full-forward Stephen Bennett both featured during Waterford’s last Munster minor hurling final appearance when they lost out to Clare in 2011.

The teams meet in the Gaelic Grounds on Sunday at 1.45pm.

WATERFORD: Gavin Power (Dungarvan); William Hahessey (Clonea), Kevin Daly (Dungarvan), Cian Leamy (Ballyduff Upper); Tom Devine (Modeligo), Austin Gleeson (Mount Sion), Shane Bennett (Ballysaggart); Conor Gleeson (Fourmilewater), Michéal Harney (Bonmahon); Adam Farrell (De La Salle), Colm Roche (Shamrocks), DJ Foran (Portlaw); Patrick Curran (Dungarvan), Stephen Bennett (Ballysaggart), Michael Kearney (Ballyduff Upper).
