WATCH: Peter Stringer intercepts James O'Connor's conversion attempt

The Australian dwelled on his kick for a few seconds too long and the canny Munster man duly intervened.

WHILE PETER STRINGER’S first-ever appearance for the Barbarians at the weekend was mainly one to forget, there was one memorable moment in which the scrum-half demonstrated his trademark wit.

Having just scored a try, Australia’s James O’Connor took a rather ponderous run up for his attempt at a conversion.

Stringer, sensing an opportunity, nipped in and grasped the ball before O’Connor could make contact with it – an action that is well within the rules of game.

Unfortunately for the Baa-Baas’ fans, it was an all-too-rare moment worth cheering for, as they were comprehensively beaten 60-11 by their Australian opponents.
