Absolutely ridiculous red card. This kid will take a long time to acclimatize to European football if he ever does make the move from South America. He has been, and continues to be, overprotected and overindulged by referees in Brazil. Nice trick all the same but it wouldn’t be long before he was on the receiving end of a reducer with the way he taunts opponents.

He’d walk into any team in Europe. One of the best talents in Brazilian football for years…….. And Santos were 5-0 up! Why wouldn’t he show off a bit of skill?

People still have that biased idea that defences are better in Europe and, therefore, they must be tougher etc. Sure, defenders are better on a tactical defending sense, but that does not mean they’re tougher. If you guys ever had a look at the sort of vicious hacking that routinely takes place in a Libertadores match, you wouldn’t be saying such nonsense… It’s the sort of thing that is simply not tolerated in the more civilized European game and would be certainly be answered by the referee with a sending off.

And, btw, that foul was not a diving. The guy kicked his shin quite hard…
