MANCHESTER UNITED LOST control of Group C’s top spot after drawing 2-2 at home to Benfica in the Champions League last night.

With Man City also having a night to forget, losing 2-1 away to Napoli, one reporter was bold enough to ask Alex Ferguson why England’s top two teams appear to be “struggling” in Europe this season.

Struggling? Here’s what Fergie had to say about that.

I agree, SAF is a very stubborn man and has said he is happy with the squad and that the squad is good enough. Anyone with any cop on knows we are not good enough and we are struggling!!

I’m a United fan, and Fergie is God. But whats this about? Its hardly an inappropriate question, is it? United have been struggling lately, as they did last night. No need to walk out!

Gavin and Paul, thank God for supporters like you two. God only knows where the clueless Ferguson would be without your kind.
