WATCH: Surfer breaks the World Record for largest wave ever ridden

Garret McNamara’s achievement took place off the coast of Nazare, Portugal.

LAST NOVEMBER, PRO-surfer Garret McNamara rode a 78-foot wave off the coast of Nazare, Portugal.

The incredible feat of athleticism has now earned McNamara a Guinness World Record for the largest wave ever surfedCBS Los Angeles reports.

Mike Parsons was the previous record-holder for riding a 77-foot wave off the coast of Southern California in 2008.
