VIDEO: Why does it always rain on them?

Liverpool supporters at the clash against Newcastle became the victims of a malfunctioning sprinkler at half-time.

HAVING JUST SEEN their side go 1-0 down to Yohan Cabaye’s volley at the end of the first half, Liverpool’s fans received a soaking when a jet of water took on a life of its own.

Brilliantly mirroring the Reds’ damp start to the Premier League season, supporters in the first 20 rows of the Paddock got a soaking for at least 30 seconds.

However, club officials such as Ian Ayre – Liverpool’s managing director – escaped the deluge as they were off availing of the free sandwiches at the time.

The paddock is full of hard working taxi drivers and families. What’s that supposed to mean?
