What a tremendous relief to get some footie on bbc2 which outshone all the hype associated with Euro 2012 by being relaxed,informative,and free from weird ads featuring “fans”who know how to down pints and repeat the views of antediluvian pundits sitting on a sofa somehere on the comtinent.I am talking about the ladies interbational match in which the England team played in Salford..The players were athletic,skillful and superbly drilled,they have a manager who combines experience with cheerfulness and enthusiasm and the commentators were low key rather than frenzied,talked sense and held a conversation more or less free of hyperbole.
