VIDEO: Anything Wayne Rooney can do, Morgan Amalfitano can do better

The player scored with a phenomenal lob in the early stages of West Brom’s hectic 3-3 draw with Cardiff.

WE’VE BARELY GOTTEN over Wayne Rooney’s outrageous lob against West Ham, but the effort below is arguably even better. After just two minutes, with seemingly nothing on, Morgan Amalfitano scored with a lob from a near-impossible angle.

That was just the beginning of a crazy afternoon at The Hawthorns as Cardiff City came back from 2-0 down to draw 3-3 with hosts West Brom.

The goal got Gilette Soccer Saturday’s Paul Merson very excited indeed.

Graham Dorrans added to Amalfitano’s opener before City’s Jordon Mutch got his team back in the tie with a well-struck effort. Stephen Caulker headed home a Guy Medel cross with 18 minutes to play but there was more drama to come.

Thievy’s low drive put The Baggies in front before Mat Daehil pounced deep into injury time to give City a point. West Brom remain just the three points clear of the Welsh side after today’s result.

    No where near Rooney’s goal.

Having seen various angles, I think it’s a fluked cross. He turns to look at the box area to where it was supposed to end up only to adjust to see it loop over the keeper.
