IMAGINE SHOOTING A round of 11-under-par 60 and still being a little bit disappointed. That happened to Phil Mickelson at the Phoenix Open last night.

Only five players have ever shot 59 on the PGA tour but standing on the ninth green at TPC Scottsdale, โ€œLeftyโ€ had one last 25-footer for a birdie and the chance to join them.

It looked good all the way, right up until the last second, and thenโ€ฆ well, you can see for yourself. Harsh.

Mickelson leads by four shots from a group of five players, including Padraig Harrington and Brandt Snedeker, who finished up on seven-under.

A 400 yard drive or a 2 inch putt, they all count the same.

Not bad for a right hander playing with the โ€œhurling gripโ€
