VIDEO: "I haven't done that for years." David Beckham scores a beauty...

David Beckham scored one of the better goals of his career last night. Check it out…

IT’S BEEN A while since we’ve seen David Beckham do anything bar talk to Ellen DeGeneres or waffle on about the Olympic Games, but somewhere in that aged exterior still lies a very good footballer.

Check out this little beauty from Saturday night’s clash between LA Galaxy and the Portland Timbers (no, us neither).

The soon-to-be 37-year-old scored the third goal in a 3-1 win, with the others coming from Juninho and Landon Donovan.

“I haven’t done that for years,” Beckham said. “It was a terrible first touch but it put me in a good position.”

There was a familiar name on the Portland scoresheet too – former Rangers star Kris Boyd.

If you’re interested in how the Americans write ‘soccer,’ check out the Washington Post’s match report. We love the use of ‘goal box’ in particular.
