Campbell-Brown gets off with warning for positive test -- report

Jamaican sprinter Veronica Campbell-Brown tested positive for a diuretic in May.

JAMAICAN SPRINT STAR Veronica Campbell-Brown, who tested positive for a banned substance earlier this year, has been cleared to compete again according to newspaper reports.

Campbell-Brown, a double Olympic 200m champion, got a public warning from a disciplinary panel but no more, Jamaican newspaper The Gleaner reported.

She tested positive for Lasix, a diuretic considered a tool for hiding use of performance enhancing drugs, on 4 May at a meeting in Jamaica.

The panel ruled that she did not in fact use Lasix to boost her performance, the newspaper reported.

The Jamaican panel’s ruling is to be sent to the International Association of Athletics Federation.
