USAIN BOLT BAGGED three more Gold Medals at the 2013 World Championships to take his career total to eight.
The Jamaican wrapped up a hugely successful event by storming home in the final leg of the 4x100m and celebrating medal success with his teammates. The win followed Bolt’s 100m and 200m triumphs earlier in the event.
Bolt gave a final interview to the media before retiring to his Moscow hotel room and making the toughest decision of his week to remember — ‘party or sleep?’
The triple world champion said, “I had no thoughts when I came here. I didn’t know what to expect. I came [to Russia] with an open mind, to see what the country was all about.”
“Personally,” he added, “they don’t smile a lot, I must say, but they are cool problems and I had no problems with them when I was here. A lot of beautiful women here. I’ll definitely tell my friends about that.” Bolt declared:
For me, truthfully, it has been a different type of world championship. It’s not the best [he laughed] but it definitely got better over the days. They changed a few things and a lot more people got a lot more relaxed. A lot more people started smiling… It really picked up at the end. At the start it wasn’t so good so I’ll have to say 7 [out of 10]. I’m just being real.”
Bolt then sent a final message to his fans via Instagram. He declared, “Hey Russia. It’s Usain Bolt. Came here. Dominated. Now I’m leaving. Thanks for the support. Keep supporting me. That’s what I do. Usain Bolt. Deuces. Do svidaniya. I’m out Russia.”
