USA edge out Brazil by 2 points in World Championship

American horrified to discover Brazillians aren’t just good at soccer.

Kevin Durant’s 27-point haul helped the USA continue their shaky start to the Fiba World Championships last night in Istanbul.

Leandro Barbosa had a chance to send the game into overtime with seconds remaining, but missed his two-point jump shot.

The USA beat Croatia (106-78) and Slovenia (99 to 77) earlier in the group but will need to produce better performances if they are to win their first World Championship since 1994.

The Brazil team included several NBA stars, including Leandro Brabosa, Anderson Varejao and new Spurs signing Tiago Splitter.
