TWO GOALS APIECE from Ruairi Convery and Paddy McCloskey ensured Derry progressed to the Ulster SHC semi-finals at the expense of Armagh.
The goals helped the Oak Leafers to a comfortable 4-14 to 1-17 win over their opponents at the Athletic Grounds.
And they began brightly, with Convery scoring after only four minutes.
Oisin O’Doherty kept his side in the lead with some excellent saves, before Paddy McCloskey got a second goal just before half-time, after being set up by Ruairi McCloskey.
Two more goals in the opening ten minutes of the second half, from McCloskey and Convery respectively, virtually ended the game as a contest.
And while a place in the semi-finals was assured for Derry, the game’s finish was marred slightly by a red card for full back Conor Quinn.
Armagh though, with little time remaining, failed to capitalise on their man advantage.
