ULSTER AND MUNSTER will meet in the M Donnelly Interprovincial Football final, after gaining victories over Connacht and Leinster earlier today.
Ulster beat Connacht in comprehensive fashion, with goals from Peter Harte, Mark Poland and Martin Penrose helping them secure a 3-16 to 0-11 victory.
Despite four points from Conor Mortimer, Ulster were able to establish an 11-point lead at the break, before Penrose’s third goal in the second half effectively ended the game as a contest.
Meanwhile, Munster claimed a narrow 1-16 to 1-13 win over Leinster in Parnell Park.
A Gary Hurney goal helped Munster go 1-04 ahead without reply, before a Cahir Healy goal, in addition to points from Bernard Brogan and Paddy Keenan, brought Leinster back into the game.
However a further point from Hurney, in addition to contributions from Ian Ryan and Mark Collins, enabled Munster to reassert their dominance and ultimately prevail.
