UEFA fine Germany €25,000 for unruly fans

The Euro 2012 semi-finalists have been disciplined for the behaviour of their supporters during the Group B match with Denmark.

UEFA SAID ON Monday that it had fined the German Football Federation (DFB) 25,000 over the behaviour of its supporters during the country’s final group stage match with Denmark.

The DFB had been charged with “the setting-off of fireworks and the improper conduct of supporters (display of inappropriate banners and symbols and inappropriate chanting)” during the game in Lviv, Ukraine, on June 17.

Germany, beaten finalists in Euro 2008, won the match 2-1, taking them through to a quarter-final meeting with 2004 champions Greece in Gdansk, Poland, which they won 4-2.

UEFA has previously fined the DFB  €410,000 after missiles were thrown onto the pitch during Germany’s opening match with Portugal on June 9.
