A THIRD QUARTER avalanche of goals saw Two Mile House claim the All-Ireland Club Junior Football Championship final at Croke Park.
The Kildare men led by just a point at half-time, but three goals inside eleven minutes of the restart sealed the deal. Adam Burke started it with his second green flag of the day, Mark Sherry kept the momentum going with his second shortly after and Chris Healy completed the job from the penalty spot.
Credit must got to Roscommon’s Fuerty because, just as in the first half when things were going against them, they refused to lie down and die.
A Robbie Fallon goal helped them get back to within seven points and then substitute Mervyn Connaughton hit the butt of the post. Had it gone in it would have sparked this game back into life.Fuerty recovered from a nightmare start, when they conceded two goals in the opening five minutes, to trail by just a point at the break.
Two Mile House were 2-0 to 0-0 clear thanks to early goals from Sherry and Burke. The Roscommon team showed great heart to battle back level on 18 minutes and shortly after they moved ahead with their seventh unanswered point.
Two Mile House realised that the game was one and they hit back to lead 2-3 to 0-8 at half-time.
