THE SOLD-OUT signs are up — but unlucky fans won’t miss out on the UFC’s return to Dublin next month.
TV3 is in advanced negotiations to buy television rights for the O2 fight night on 19 July, headlined by Irish star Conor McGregor against Diego Brandao.
A station source told TheScore.ie that TV3 is “close” to finalising a terrestrial deal to broadcast the eagerly-anticipated card live on 3e.
It is understood that TV3 also hope to film a documentary to air around the event.
Fans were left dismayed when tickets sold out within moments of going on general sale last Friday morning.
There was unprecedented demand for the 10-fight card, which will be the UFC’s first event in Dublin since January 2009 and a first opportunity to see the charismatic McGregor in UFC action on home soil.
The Dubliner made his debut in April 2013 but has been out of the octagon for almost a year with a serious cruciate ligament injury.
The fight will also be shown on BT Sport which is available to Irish subscribers.
