Shamrock Rovers terminate Croly's contract by mutual agreement

The announcement comes after last night’s 4-1 defeat to Limerick.

SHAMROCK ROVERS HAVE confirmed that manager Trevor Croly has had his contract terminated by mutual agreement.

Assistant manager John Gill has been installed as his replacement on a caretaker basis ahead of this afternoon’s friendly match against Harry Redknapp’s QPR at Tallaght Stadium.

Croly joined Rovers as manager in 2012, having previously represented the club in the 2003/04 season when still active as a player. The Dublin native led the Hoops to success in the Leinster Senior Cup, League of Ireland Cup and Setanta Sports Cup in 2013.

This afternoon’s statement from Shamrock Rovers stated that Croly’s contract has been “terminated by mutual agreement.” The announcement comes in the wake of last night’s 4-1 defeat to Limerick in the Airtricity League Premier Division.

Shamrock Rovers would like to express our thanks to Trevor for the commitment he has shown to the club since his appointment in November 2012,” reads the club’s statement.

“Trevor has worked hard for Shamrock Rovers and secured three trophies during his spell as manager. He has also created strong football structures which will benefit the club into the future.

“We would like to wish Trevor the very best for the future.”
