Treatment Table: Injury latest before this weekend's Allianz league finals

Who’s ruled out and who’s fighting to be fit ahead of this weekend’s four divisional finals in Croke Park?

DIVISION 1

Dublin

Dublin received a boost with a return to the fold of the established trio of James McCarthy, Rory O’Carroll and Kevin Nolan when they lined out against Galway in last Saturday’s challenge match played at the Round Towers club in Clondalkin.

Ciaran Kilkenny is still recovering from a knee injury while Alan Brogan continues to be sidelined with a long-term groin injury that has prevented him from featuring this season to date.

Tyrone

The Red Hand welcome Joe McMahon back into their plans after he cried off before their semi-final win over Kildare with an ankle injury. Ronan O’Neill is also in line to return after recovering from a hamstring injury.

But Peter Harte will be unavailable for Mickey Harte’s side after limping off with a hamstring injury in that victory over the Lilywhites and he is still absent.

Division 2

Derry

Captain Mark Lynch is still doubtful because of the hand injury which has kept him out of action since mid-March. while his deputy Dermot McBride could also miss the game.

Dermot McBride is also an injury concern but in better news for Derry, key attacker Eoin Bradley emerged unscathed from a league game with his club Glenullin last weekend.

Bradley has been hampered by a hamstring problem recently which saw him miss the clash with Wexford before returning for their last league game against Westmeath.

Westmeath

Pat Flanagan’s side have made eight changes for the game with goalkeeper Gary Connaughton, defender James Dolan, midfielder John Heslin and attackers Ger Egan, Callum McCormack, Kieran Martin, Ciaran Curley and Denis Glennon all returning to their line-up.

Westmeath had clinched promotion before their last tie against Derry which resulted in them making several changes to their side. Kieran Gavin returns to theirs squad after recovering from burns suffered in a work accident.

WESTMEATH: Gary Connaughton (Tubberclair); Mark McCallion (Garrycastle), John Gaffey (Garrycastle), Kevin Maguire (Caulry); Doron Harte (Garrycastle), Paul Sharry (St Loman’s), James Dolan (Garrycastle); David Duffy (Shandonagh), John Heslin (St Loman’s); Ger Egan (Tyrrellspass), Callum McCormack (Maryland), Kieran Martin (Maryland); Denis Corroon (Mullingar Shamrocks), Ciaran Curley (Mullingar Shamrocks), Denis Glennon (Tyrrellspass).

Division 3

Meath

Last year’s captain Shane McAnarney has returned to the county setup after being recovering from a hip operation. McAnarney made his comeback in club action last week as did Mickey Burke who was battling back from a leg injury.

Both are now available for selection for manager Mick O’Dowd as is Seamus Kenny who has been a long-term absentee with a cruciate injury.

Monaghan

Defender Dessie Mone is continuing to receive treatment on an Achilles tendon injury that saw him miss out on their last victory over Antrim. Attacker Tommy Freeman continues to be unavailable as he recovers from the broken jaw he sustained in their victory over Wicklow.

Gavin Doogan and Peter O’Hanlon are both concerns with hamstring injuries and manager Malachy O’Rourke is set to monitor their fitness in the run up to Saturday’s game.

Division 4

Limerick

Stephen Lucey and John Galvin, who have both been dogged by injuries in the league, are likely to be involved in Saturday’s match panel in Croke Park. In a boost to Limerick’s aspirations, both emerged unscathed from a recent challenge game against Laois.

Stephen Kelly remains sidelined through injury and along with Jim O’Donovan and John Cooke, will not be part of manager Maurice Horan’s plans this weekend.

Offaly

Matthew Mitchell is the only absentee for Offaly with a hamstring injury. Apart from that, it’s a clean bill of health for the Faithful ahead of their pursuit of silverware.
