Trapattoni in talks to take over as Ivory Coast manager after World Cup - reports

The Italian isn’t ready to retire just yet.

FORMER IRELAND BOSS Giovanni Trapattoni is set to become the next Ivory coast manager, reports in Italy this morning suggest.

French coach Sabri Lamouchi will take the side to the World Cup before the legendary Italian takes the reins.

The African side are grouped with Greece, Japan and Colombia in Group C.

Trapattoni led Ireland for three qualification campaigns. The Boys in Green famously missed out on a World Cup place thanks to play-off defeat to France in 2009 before Trap brought the country to Euro 2012. After a disastrous stay in Poland, the recent Brazil 2014 qualification bid was the end of the road for Trap and assistant Marco Tardelli.
