TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR HAVE apologised after a video was posted on their official Twitter account mocking Liverpool’s Premier League title “capitulation”.
Liverpool led 3-0 at Crystal Palace last night, only for the hosts to score three goals in the final 11 minutes to earn a point and put Manchester City in the driving seat to win the league.

Shortly after the game a post appeared on Tottenham’s Twitter account comparing Liverpool’s late collapse to Newcastle United’s failure to win the title in 1995-96 after holding a 12-point advantage over Manchester United.
It read: “Brutal but very funny. The biggest capitulation since Newcastle in the 90s.”
A Vine video was attached to the tweet, with the film quickly seguing from footage of Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard leading a team huddle after the 3-2 win over Manchester City to his slip that handed Chelsea the opening goal in a 2-0 victory at Anfield.
The video then showed Dwight Gayle scoring the equaliser at Selhurst Park followed by an unrelated clip of Palace manager Tony Pulis laughing.
Tottenham have now removed the post and were quick to tweet an apology.

“We are currently looking into a security issue where our official Vine account has been compromised,” the club said.
“We apologise to anyone offended by a recent tweet, which was immediately deleted. This post was not tweeted by anyone affiliated to THFC.”
Just stating the obvious really …. it is the biggest title collapse since Newcastle in ’96. 11 wins in a row followed by 1 point from 6 (including last night’s calamity).
Are you having a laugh, how can it be the biggest title collapse when they were never more than three points clear at the top when you consider games in hand. United two years ago was the biggest collapse since Newcastle, 8 points ahead with 6 to go, or Arsenal have even had bigger collapses over the last decade. People are only saying it is a title collapse because all the Liverpool fans were ridiculously proclaiming they had won the title after the city game, even though they were only marginally ahead and still had to play Chelsea!
Didn’t mean to come across as being irate, but it’s not like they were miles ahead in the title race, it was a three horse race with every team having a chance, similar to La Liga.
Barry, in all fairness, since the last 15 minutes of last nights game, I am sure that is the other way round….. All 3 have stumbled in the run in…… Just looks like in favour to Man City at the end…… Not finished yet though….. Somehow Chelsea still in….. For now…. Seems at times, like in Spain, no one wants it…
Really? Wow, guess you guys can take down that 20 banner….. and the 5 stars from your jerse….. oh, you do not have 5 stars….. great club like yours, a shame….
Ahhh this is what footie is all about… The ribbing of rivals….. Really, if you want to mention biggest collapse, I think 2 years ago, Man U had an 8 point lead with a handful of games remaining, right? I am sickened, but will live…. I guess for many Man U fans, last night was a godsend….. Enjoy it….
You’re right Graham, and this season has been a godsend for Liverpools fans. Not only did ye do really well, United turned to utter shite. Happy year for you lot.
Ya well … I don’t know how happy or not Liverpool fans are now or will in a few weeks, happy with United – Yes, Happy with you’re own team – Yes – Happy with the manager – Yes. The only thing is the goals conceded this year that cost ye. Thats it really, it will be interesting next year to see if United recover at all, If chelsea buy some strikers and how Liverpool do in the league while balancing the games in the CPL.
Big summer ahead, but I am only looking at what Pool can do, what Rodgers learned. Clearly a backbone in defence is needed. The progress so far has been huge, I believe Rodgers too has taken a page from Fergies book too, the us against them mentality, backs to the wall…… Almost got them to the end this year, and who knows, the game was won yesterday, and thats the beauty of the game, anything can happen. Villa and West Ham can play pressure free now…… A long shot……. But who know….. Next season will be much more open I think….. I think Man U will bring back stability too, but strong enough? Do not know….. Chelsea….. Who knows….. City….. Expected with the money involved, Arsenal, need Ramsey fit….. Spurs??? Maybe there will be something else in works….. Everton could really improve too….. Fun never stops….. Lil thing called the World cup ahead…… Though I think that might be a disaster on many levels……
City and Chelsea will be there in the top 4 , the rest of us will have to fight for what we get, United have a long difficult road ahead and its gonna be slow and they need to make decisions best for the club and team not for peoples ego’s. Liverpool need a few defenders, 1 mid and 1 striker, but like every team, you gotta buy the right men, which is easier said then done !
Lots of people gave Tottenham good hidings this season other than Liverpool – Man City twice comes to mind and even West Ham !! 2 words explain a lot of the reason why … Younes Kaboul.
The people mocking Liverpool are the real joke; a team that finished 7th last year and not much better the year before turn it around this season and compete with the big boys all the way to the end with only the goalkeeper the major change, and rival fans are laughing at them? If u step back and look at the situation without allowing bias dictate your conclusion on how they have finished up you’ll realise that the playing squad was paper thin. How many games has Gerrard started and finished this season at 34 years of age?
If Liverpool can get rid of the likes of Johnson, Lucas and deadwood like aspas and bring in 4 or 5 top top quality players to compliment and compete with the rest of them, the keyboard warriors will have a quiet 14/15 season.
The same could be said for nearly every team in the premier league. 4 or 5 top top players will cost €150M which will effectively buy you the league which is what has happened for years.
No guarantee city or Chelsea are going to be that much better next season. A lot of dead wood at both clubs too. Sky hype em up too much and when they meet the big boys of Europe they don’t really set the world alight

Tottenham fans aren’t exactly in the position to be mocking anyone….
Didn’t see Tottenham or their fans mocking anyone. Their website was hacked !
It was just stating the obvious Fond…. This year though, Spurs did not blow 4th….
Of course it was.
Most likely was that whoever runs their account runs a personal account off the same application and accidentally tweeted from the wrong one.
If Spurs’ account was hacked, I’d have expected whoever did it to do a bit more damage than that.
Just stating the obvious really …. it is the biggest title collapse since Newcastle in ’96. 11 wins in a row followed by 1 point from 6 (including last night’s calamity).

Pat if you can count Newcastle was the biggest collapse. Manchester United is like Liverpools ex girlfriend they just never stop going on about!

Didn’t Man United blow a 14 point lead over Arsenal in 1998?
Didn’t Liverpool blow the League this year? and Didn’t Liverpool never win the Premier League :D
Pat, 3-0 up with 11 minutes left is the biggest title collapse in the history of football. I love it!
11 wins in your last 13 is hardly blowing the league
Really? Wow, guess you guys can take down that 20 banner….. and the 5 stars from your jerse….. oh, you do not have 5 stars….. great club like yours, a shame….
How can it be when even if they won the game it was still out of their hands?
Lets play the banter game :D
YAWN
Yes cause all the neutral clubs wanted Liverpool to win didn’t they ..
Ahhh this is what footie is all about… The ribbing of rivals….. Aww poor Tottenham. Are they bitter because Liverpool gave them not one, but two good hidings this season?
Lots of people gave Tottenham good hidings this season other than Liverpool – Man City twice comes to mind and even West Ham !! 2 words explain a lot of the reason why … Younes Kaboul.
The Chelsea game springs to mind when you mention him…..
Lots of games spring to mind when u mention him … Red card on Saturday being the most recent example
He needs to work on that tackling, better his timing by about… 2-3 seconds……. Always looks bad….
He can work on his tackling and better his timing as much as he likes. As long as it’s away from WHL.
Jaysus…. A new manager might think he can fix him…. Keep him….. This year, too many players played bad at Spurs, Younis might fly under the radar….
