SYDNEY SWANS FORWARD Tommy Walsh says he is ready for the challenge of playing in the AFL, having already spent two seasons in the VFL competing with St Kilda’s reserve side Sandringham.
Walsh signed for the Sydney Swans just before the trade deadline passed, thus following in the footsteps of fellow Irishman Tadhg Kennelly, who only recently left the Swans.
And speaking after making the big move, Walsh has promised he will be taking nothing for granted, saying:
“I feel like I’m ready. We won’t know for sure until I actually play, but I do feel ready. It comes from experience and training, you know, you just get more comfortable in every position.”
Walsh played alongside Kennelly when Kerry won the All-Ireland in 2009 and he is currently living with the former Swans star, as he organises his move to Sydney.
