Down in the southern hemisphere, however, the Super Rugby season continues at break-neck speed. The Highlanders beat the Hurricanes 49-44 at the weekend as both sides shared out 93 points.
‘Canes scrumhalf TJ Perenara was fit to play despite a nasty shin injury incurred against the Chiefs the week before. The Kiwi was left in a heap as a stray leg made a sickening connection with his shin. Perenara looked out of action, for all money, until a gritty courage took hold and he rejoined the fray.

Also in Super Rugby, Butch James of the Sharks has been suspended for four weeks following a head-high tackle on Jurgen Visser. To make matters worse for his team, the tackle could not even prevent a try for the Bulls:
