6 minor hurlers included in Tipperary side to face Waterford in Munster MFC opener

The teams meet in the Fraher Field in Dungarvan tomorrow.

SIX TIPPERARY MINOR hurlers are named in the county’s football side for tomorrow night’s Munster opener against Waterford in Dungarvan at 7pm.

Wing-backs Willie Connors and Jack Skehan, midfielders Tommy Nolan and Stephen Quirke, and corner-forward Paul Maher all played for the Tipperary minor hurling side that lost to Limerick last week. Wing-forward Ross Peters came on as a substitute in that game.

Manager Charlie McGeever includes goalkeeper Jack Brady, corner-back Danny Owens, Connors and Maher as survivors from last year’s Munster minor football final loss to Kerry.

Waterford have included six members of their county hurling side who defeated Clare last week for the clash at the Fraher Field in Dungarvan.  Centre-back Edmond O’Halloran, midfielders Cormac Curran and Conor Prunty, wing-forward Joe Allen, full-forward Conor Gleeson and corner-forward Darragh Lyons all played in that victory over the Banner.
