4 changes to Tipperary team for U21 tie

Cork and Limerick have also named their sides for tomorrow night’s Munster U21 football semi-final.

TIPPERARY BOSS DAVID Power has unveiled his starting 15 for tomorrow night’s Cadbury’s Munster U21FC semi-final against Clare.

And the Premier manager has shuffled his deck from the side that defeated Waterford at the quarter-final stage a fortnight ago.

Tipperary triumphed in that game by 1-17 to 0-9 but have brought in defensive pair Paddy Dalton and Niall O’Meara, midfielder Ian Fahey and attacker Philip Quirke to their team.

Dalton, O’Meara and Quirke all came on in that game with Moyle Rovers player Quirke firing 0-4 during his cameo.

Fahey, an All-Ireland minor winner in 2011 along with Quirke, had been hampered by injury recently but returns to partner Steven O’Brien at midfield.

O’Meara, a brother of county senior hurler Brian, featured for Mary Immaculate College in the recent Fitzgibbon Cup final.

Darragh Kearney is ruled out through illness while Padraig O’Meara, John O’Callaghan and Billy Hewitt are the other players to make way.

In all Tipperary have ten starters from the side that won the All-Ireland minor title two years ago while Quirke came on as a substitute during that game.

Cork have kept faith with the side that defeated Kerry at the quarter-final stage for their Cadbury’s Munster U21FC semi-final against Limerick in the Gaelic Grounds tomorrow night.

There are a couple of positional changes with Damien Cahalane starting at centre-back, Tom Clancy moving to midfield, Brian Hurley stationed at full-forward and Luke Connolly moving to the corner.

Meanwhile opponents Limerick have selected five members of the county’s senior panel for the clash.

Full-back and team captain James O’Meara has senior experience this season as does centre-back Iain Corbett and midfielder Darragh Treacy.

Wing-forward Sean Sheahan and corner-forward Danny Neville are others who have been involved with the county senior setup in recent times.

Former Tipperary senior football manager Tom McGlinchey is at the helm for the Limerick U21′s.
