THE TIPPERARY COUNTY board insists that the proposed holiday for the senior hurlers at the end of the year has not been scrapped, and that the players will ultimately decide whether or not to go away.
Reports emerged on Thursday that a planned foreign holiday over Christmas was to be cancelled, due to the amount of money pumped into the inter-county teams this season.
Over €1.2million was spent preparing both the hurling and football sides for National League and Championship action, with an all expenses paid trip abroad costing a further €50,000.
Tipperary PRO Ger Ryan, however, told The Score that no decision has been made at this point.
“That is an incorrect story that appeared,” he insisted.
“We are currently looking at all of our options and, ultimately, it is down to the choice of the players whether any holiday takes place or not.
“We would expect there to be a decision in the next week or so.”
