CARDIFF BLUES CHAIRMAN Peter Thomas has criticised comments made by former Ospreys coach Lyn Jones, who had previously described the sacking of Gavin Henson as “inexcusable”.
Thomas claimed that Jones was unaware of the full facts surrounding the incident, telling reporters:
“He doesn’t have a clue, of course. He just opens his big mouth and speaks too soon.”
In addition, Thomas suggested that Jones was partially at fault for Henson’s ill-discipline:
“I will give Lyn Jones food for thought… if he had reprimanded Gavin properly when he had that incident on a train five years ago, then maybe the guy would be a different person today.
“People in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones.”
Jones is one of many ex-players to criticise the Blues’ decision to sack the centre, despite Henson issuing an apology for his behaviour.
