BRENDAN CUMMINS AND Tomás Ó Sé have been confirmed as the new analysts for The Sunday Game this summer.
The former Tipperary hurling goalkeeper and the ex-Kerry football defender are the additions to RTÉ’s flagship GAA show which returns on Sunday May 18th.
Cummins brought the curtain down on his inter-county career last October after winning All-Ireland senior hurling medals in 2001 and 2010. In the same month, Ó Sé announced his retirement after winning All-Ireland senior football medals in 2000, 2004, 2006, 2007 and 2009.
RTÉ have also announced that Donal Óg Cusack will be part of their analyst team again this summer. The former Cork hurling star had been linked to a potential involvement with Sky Sports who are entering the GAA TV market for the first time this season.
Ó Sé will make his punditry debut alongside Colm O’Rourke and Joe Brolly in Omagh on Sunday May 18th for the live coverage of the Ulster championship opener between Tyrone and Derry. Michael Lyster will be the presenter of that programme from Healy Park.
The Sunday Game night time show, now in its 36th year, also returns on Sunday May 18th. Colm Cooper will feature as a special guest with regular analysts Ciaran Whelan and Kevin McStay as Des Cahill presents.
RTÉ will broadcast 31 live games this summer, including 20 matches in high definition on RTÉ Two HD. RTÉ Radio will also have commentary on more than 30 matches during the summer. RTÉ Two will also announce details of its Friday night magazine programme in the coming weeks.

Two YES men who will not rock the boat.
Colm Cooper? Good god.
I should have added that the man can barely string 2 coherent sentences together. A great footballer doesn’t automatically make for a coherent analyst.
