1. #EUROPA LEAGUE Shamrock Rovers face Rubin Kazan in their penultimate Europa League group game this evening.

The Hoops trained last night in freezing conditions. The game kicks off at 5pm, Irish time. We’ll liveblog the action throughout.

Celtic take on Atletico Madrid at Parkhead meanwhile.

2. CARLING CUP Last night, Liverpool booked their place in the last four of the league cup, beating Chelsea 2-0 at Stamford Bridge. Arsenal were edged out by a Sergio Aguero goal for Manchester City while in Cardiff, the home side piled more pressure on Blackburn boss Steve Kean.

Manchester United take on Crystal Palace in the final quarter-final tie tonight.

3. #AMERICAN DREAM An NFL delegation will visit Croke Park on Friday but no negotiations have taken place about a regular season game in Dublin, a league spokesperson told us yesterday.

4. #SPEEDO The inquest into the death of Wales manager Gary Speed was adjourned in Warrington yesterday. The coroner heard that the former Premier League star was found by his wife, Louise, at their home on Sunday morning.

Last night, during their Championship clash at the Nottingham Forest’s City Ground,Leeds fans started to chant their former No 11′s name for 11 minutes, starting after 11 minutes. They scored as the tribute ended, and ultimately ran out 4-0 winners.

5. #WEST COAST The touring GAA All-Star teams depart for San Francisco this morning. Croke Park yesterday confirmed the travelling party under the guidance of team managers Liam Sheedy (2010) and Davy Fitzgerald (2011).

The game takes place at Treasure Island on Sunday at the headquarters of San Francisco GAA. We’ll have news and video throughout the week.

6. #REBEL COUNTY The statues of Peter Stringer and Ronan O’Gara proposed for Cork city centre could be the first step in the creation of a new sporting heritage trail, the Lord Mayor told TheScore yesterday.
