1. #RWC2011 There’s just one game down for decision in New Zealand today as Wales go off in search of a bonus point against Namibia.

The second half is well underway in New Plymouth, and you can catch up with all the latest in our minute-by-minute report here.

2. #GAA Cork dual star Teddy McCarthy is expected to be named as Laois senior hurling manager next week, pending ratification by the O’Moore’s county board.

McCarthy, who won two All-Ireland hurling titles with the Rebels as a player, will replace Brendan Fennelly who walked away from the post after a drubbing by Cork in this year’s All-Ireland qualifiers.

3. #SOLHEIM CUP Europe’s ladies are celebrating a famous victory after yesterday’s thrilling Solheim Cup finale in Killeen Castle, County Meath.

Late fightbacks from Irish Open champion Suzann Pettersen and Caroline Hedwall turned the tide over the closing holes, helping Europe to a 15-13 win.

4. #GAA Cork are the All-Ireland Ladies Football champions once again after they edged Monaghan by just two points, 2-07 to 0-11, in Croke Park yesterday.

Goals from Nollaig Cleary and Rhona Ní Bhuachalla ensured that the Rebels took home their sixth All-Ireland crown in seven years.

5. #FEDEX CUP America’s Bill Haas is over $11m richer this morning after he defeated Hunter Mahan in the Tour Championship play-off last night.

After saving par with a superb up-and-down on the second extra hole, Haas went on to pick up the tournament first prize of $1.4m as well as the tasty FedEx Cup bonus of $10m.

6. #GOLAZO How about this for a long-range header by Odd Grenland’s Jone Samuelsen? We really need to start watching more Norwegian football.
