Here’s everything you need to know this morning – apart from the cost of a week away in the sun.

1. #EURO 2012 Cristiano Ronaldo stole the show as Portugal booked their place in the Euro 2012 semi-finals with a 1-0 win against the Czech Republic in Warsaw.

After peppering Petr Cech’s goal to no avail, the Madridista headed home the game’s only goal 11 minutes from time to set up a semi-final date against either Spain or France.

Tonight sees the clash of the bailout buds in Gdansk as Germany meet Greece in the second quarter-final.

2. #AIRTRICITY LEAGUE Shamrock Rovers twice needed to come from behind to see off 10-man Shelbourne as the Airtricity League season resumed in Tolka Park last night.

Not for the first time this season Gary Twigg was the Hoops’ hero, scoring his 14th and 15th goals of the season to give the visitors a 3-2 win and move them to within five points of league leaders Sligo Rovers.

3. #DUBS V CATS Henry Shefflin will make his long-awaited return to inter-county action in tomorrow’s Leinster SHC semi-final between Kilkenny and Dublin in Portlaoise.

The Cats star missed the entire league campaign with a shoulder injury but is named at wing-forward while Richie Power is at full-forward.

Anthony Daly makes just one change to the Dublin side with Ryan O’Dwyer returning in place of David Treacy having served his suspension.

Cork, Wexford,Tipperary and Limerick have also named their respective starting XVs for this weekend.

4. #PGA Padraig Harrington got off to a solid if unspectacular start at the Travelers Championship in Connecticut, opening his weekend with a one-under-par round of 69.

The Dubliner is five shots off the overnight lead held by America’s David Mathis who shot six-under.

5. #NBA FINALS Two years ago, LeBron James took his talents to South Beach to win NBA rings — and now he’s finally got one.

James scored 26 points as the Miami Heat beat the Oklahoma City Thunder 121-106 last night to wrap up a 4-1 series win and claim their second-ever NBA Championship.

6. #ASCOT Aidan O’Brian has his sights set on a star-studded double on day four of Royal Ascot as the Ballydoyle team look to make amends for Fame and Glory’s disappointing run yesterday.

Astrology is 5/4 favourite for the Group 2 King Edward Stakes at 15:05 while Homecoming Queen (7/2) can follow up her 1000 Guineas win with further success in the Coronation Stakes at 15:45.
