The Morning Score: Friday

As we get ready for a big weekend of sporting action, here’s everything you need to know this Friday morning.

1. #GAA Dublin boss Pat Gilroy has named an unchanged side for Sunday’s All-Ireland final against old rivals Kerry.

Paul Flynn, who was substituted late on in the Dubs’ semi-final victory over Donegal with a hamstring injury, passed a late fitness test and will take his place in the half-forward line.

2. #RWC Australia could be forced to do without star flanker David Pocock for tomorrow’s Pool C clash against Ireland tomorrow morning.

The openside didn’t train with his team-mates at Eden Park this morning, but his absence due to back tightness was described as a precaution by the camp.

3. #EUROPA LEAGUE Shamrock Rovers got their first taste of the Europa League group stages when they were beaten 3-0 by a classy Rubin Kazan of Russia last night.

Next up for the Hoops is a trip to White Hart Lane in two weeks’ time to face Tottenham Hotspur. A relatively inexperienced Spurs side launched their own campaign last night with a 0-0 draw away to PAOK in Greece.

4. #SEVE TROPHY Paul McGinley’s Great Britain and Ireland side opened up a commanding lead on day one of the Seve Trophy in France yesterday.

Team GB&I won four of the opening day fourballs to take a 4-1 lead over their Continental European opponents ahead of today’s action.

5. #FAI CUP In domestic football, it’s FAI Cup quarter-final weekend with two games down for decision tonight.

Cork City welcome St Patrick’s Athletic to Turner’s Cross, while in Oriel Park, Bohemians travel north to face Dundalk.
